Something else on your mind?
Ask something else01What is Jyotish?
Jyotish is the traditional Indian way of reading the sky at a given moment, often called Vedic or Hindu astrology. It uses a zodiac fixed to the stars, called the sidereal zodiac, along with nine grahas, 27 nakshatras and planetary periods called dashas. Narayani uses it as a structured way to think about patterns and timing. It has a long history as a tradition, and it has not been shown to predict anything.
02Is Jyotish prediction, and is there scientific proof for it?
No. Many teachers speak of indications, and Narayani does not use a chart to forecast events. There is no scientific proof for it, and the section above on what Jyotish claims sets out what the tests found. What a reading offers is a structured way to look at a period, a pattern or a choice.
03Do I need my exact birth time?
Mostly yes, though not for every part of the chart. The rising sign sets how the houses fall and changes about every two hours, and the finer divisional charts change within minutes. The Moon sign and nakshatra are steadier, but dasha dates still move with the time. If you are unsure of yours, say so and say where it came from. The birth chart reading page shows how much a small error changes, and a separate page on readings without birth details covers the alternatives.
